Madidi National Park:
It is an impressive nature reserve that has a wide variety of species of flora and fauna, as well as some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region.
Pilón Lajas Biosphere Reserve and Community Land of Origin:
The topographic characteristics of the Pilón Lajas Reserve and TCO give rise to a large number of spectacular landscapes, highlighting the cliffs and licks of the Charque mountain range, the El Bala and El Beo straits on the Beni River, as well as the Quiquibey River, complemented by the cultural values of the Tsimanes and Mosetenes populations that inhabit its rivers, in addition to rock arts present in the area. GASTRONOMY - TYPICAL DISHES:
Tacuara fish:
The base is fresh fish taken from the river, which after being cleaned is chopped and then seasoned, then placed in tacuara (bamboo) and covered with a banana leaf so that the steam does not escape, it is served with grilled banana, cooked yucca, rice and palm heart salad.
Leaf Fish (DUNUCUABI):
It is a native recipe from the Amazon region of Bolivia, consumed in the communities of the municipality of Rurrenabaque and others. It is fish cooked over embers. The rustically seasoned fish is wrapped in patujú, banana, heliconia or japaina leaves. These are softened over the fire and cover the fish to maintain its juice and tenderness. It is left on the grill for approximately 20 minutes. It is served with cassava, rice or plantain.
Beniano sausage:
Made with thin beef tripe, ground beef, ground pork, bacon, onion, aribibi, vinegar, garlic, cumin, pepper and salt.
CLIMATE:
The climate in Rurrenabaque is hot and humid throughout the year, with temperatures ranging between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius. The hottest months are from September to May, while the coolest months are from June to August. It is important to keep in mind that the humidity in the city can be high, so it is advisable to wear light clothing and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
